Evidence that Fran is always thinking of things to keep you busy

My e-book 'Being Miss' has a new cover.  My son put it together for me.  I think he's a very clever boy, and obviously destined for great things, especially as he's only just had his second birthday.......

Kidding you.  He's nearly 26.  And just about to become a father ....  Which will make me Granny Franny, as my sister delights in telling me.

Fran found that even getting dressed up and trying to make the most of herself didn't make her feel any younger

  1. Haven't read it yet, but you're in my Kindle queue...looking even better with a swish cover.

  2. What an accomplishment. I'm taking a long flight to Istanbul in a few weeks and your book will help me to enjoy the flight.

  3. In the middle of reading your book, & enjoying it immensely, as I knew I would. When my first grandchild was born, my son wanted to call me "Old Granny Franny"--I think he understood that I was not pleased w3ith that idea when I told him, "Call me that & DIE"!!

    1. Fabulous! Glad you're enjoying it. I think 'Call me that and DIE' is a most compassionate response and I will try it.

  5. Those are real "come to bed" eyes in that photo. Come to bed and light the pyre beneath us.

  9. Congratulations on becoming a soon to be Grandma Fran. Does this mean your blog will now become more mellow? Will you soon be sitting by the fire with cats and knitting needles to hand? Please ask if you need any stitching or cat care tips!!!

  10. I love that cover! I'm looking forward to reading the book. Oh - and being a granny is wonderful (but you've already been told that). I'm not Granny Franny (no-one seems to have thought of that); I'm The Galloping Granny. Ha.

    1. I don't THINK there's any likelihood of anyone ever accusing me of galloping.... Hope you enjoy the book, Frances.

  13. My oldest is 26, too. I think I might be ready for this step myself in the next few years. I have so avoided it as it seemed such a recent event that my own were just born. Now, maybe I'd like it. I do like when the granddog comes - and goes home.

    Granny Fanny. I like it.

  15. How about Gran Fran? Or maybe Granfran (with the emphasis on the Gran bit).

I had a Granny Smith also. It didn't strike me as funny at all. Obviously the apples are a graceful tribute to her. But my mum (who is Mrs Smith) refused to be Granny Smith when it came to her turn, and was (is) Granny May.

    1. I could be Granny Hill. Quite like that. Except it has connotations (somehow) of somewhere they'd put an old people's home .. you know .. high up, so that when you need to go to hospital, they can just roll you down rather than calling an ambulance.

Oh, and to answer your question, a Shamrock Shake is basically a mint shake. So good!

Just hand over the coffee or I'll put my fist through your cake display!'
